How to See the Best in Yourself to Become Better

A few people I know who spend a lot of time reading other people's posts on social media belittle their own achievements because everyone else seems to be successful in their endeavours. People depict an extremely exaggerated version of life on Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, and other social platforms. They only share the good things, not the bad. So when you compare yourself to what you see on social media, you’re just hurting yourself.

As a mental toughness trainer, I believe that the ability to be the best versions of ourselves start with our own thoughts. It is vital to celebrate any wins in life, especially the small ones. Start by appreciating what you have achieved already, no matter how small. Perhaps you may not be where you want financially, but think of the relationships or friendships you have build over the years. Or perhaps overcoming challenges or adversities in the past and becoming stronger. Or the kindness or generosity you have displayed before.

Be flexible and stop being too harsh on yourself. Leadership speakers for business agree that long-term success requires us to see ourselves in a positive light and to be the best in ourselves on a daily basis. It is this consistency of thought and attitude that pave the way to your ultimate goals.
