Learn to Refocus on the Positive and Stop Negative Thinking

It is completely natural for us to focus on negativity. In fact, it is a survival mechanism that is embedded into the million-year old human brain. By focusing on what went wrong, we are preparing our mind and body to stave off unwarranted risk. Even inspirational speakers Singapore companies hire sometimes focus on negativity when speaking to a difficult crowd.

 

While it is normal for us to pay attention to negative news, it is extremely important for us to not overfocus on them. Give them requisite attention, but be weary of the survival mechanism going into overdrive. If our goal is to be happy, healthy and productive individuals, then we must learn find positivity daily.

 

Invariably, we will encounter obstacles throughout our day. The trick is to think of the possible benefit of the challenge, no matter how slight or small the may seem. For example, if you are stuck at home, think of how you have time to read that book you have been putting off for while now. Most importantly, find friends of family members who exude positivity. Their words, whether it is online, on the phone, or through virtual chat, will permeate your own line of thinking. Soon, you will also see through the lens of positivity. If you have a problem, ask your mental toughness coach to help you view them from a positive paradigm.
