"Struggle" is a common emotion throughout this pandemic. While the ones who caught the novel coronavirus themselves or have family members who contracted it suffered the most, others who were locked down, quarantined, lost their jobs or see their business evaporate also struggled immensely. COVID-19 permeated all walks of life and the struggle was widespread. Many motivational speakers Singapore companies hire are now jobless.
No one enjoys struggling. Many can endure struggling well especially those who have experienced pain in the past or have learned mental strategies from gurus. However, the fact remains that struggling is not a favoured feeling even among motivational speakers in Singapore.
But there is great use in struggle. We derive strength from them. As humans, we learn to adapt to our environment in order to survive. When the light shines once again in the world and we rise from our ashes, we emerge smarter, better and stronger. Such is the gift of struggle if we have a "growth mindset", as mental health speakers call it.
As many countries including Malaysia release the citizens from their lockdown prisons and return to normal life, let us all remember our struggles to remind us to do our best to keep our world safe, healthy and strong.
